Our Mission
GOZA - which means "to enjoy" or "to rejoice" in Spanish - was born from a simple but powerful idea: that culture is meant to be shared. We believe that celebrating our heritage brings neighbors closer, strengthens community bonds, and honors the generations who came before us.
Our mission is to create a joyful, inclusive space where the richness of Hispanic culture can be experienced by everyone - residents, neighbors, families, and friends - right here in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15 – October 15
National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed each year from September 15 to October 15. It honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
September 15 is significant as the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence on September 16 and 18 respectively. This month is a time to recognize the profound impact Hispanic and Latino communities have made - and continue to make - on the fabric of American life.
Rooted in Teaneck
Teaneck is one of New Jersey's most diverse communities - a place where cultures meet, traditions are honored, and neighbors become family. The GOZA Hispanic Multicultural Celebration is a reflection of that spirit: a free, open-to-all event that invites every resident and neighbor to come together, learn, and celebrate.
